HT, LT series tempering furnace tempering deformation

The main reason for the tempering deformation is the residual hard force or organizational change generated during tempering and quenching, that is, the contraction and expansion due to the elimination of tensile stress and the elimination of compressive stress due to tempering. Including some shrinkage of e carbide precipitated in the early stage of tempering, a large amount of shrinkage in the cemin carbon and iron condensation process, expansion of residual Austenite into Martian loose iron, expansion of residual Austenite into toughened iron, etc., resulting in deformation of the workpiece after tempering.


HT, LT series tempering furnace prevention method:

Implement pressure tempering treatment;

Use hot bath or air quenching to reduce residual stress;

Correction by machining;

Reserve the amount of deformation, etc.

Folding tempering furnace tempering quenching type

270℃~350℃ embrittlement: also known as low temperature tempering quenching, mostly occurs in carbon steel and low alloy steel.

400℃~550℃ embrittlement: Usually alloy steel for construction is prone to embrittlement at this temperature range.

475℃ embrittlement: especially refers to the Cr content of more than 13% of the granulated iron series stainless steel, tempered between 400℃ and 550℃, resulting in increased hardness and embrittlement phenomenon, especially at 475℃.

500℃~570℃ embrittlement: common in the processing of tool steel, high-speed steel and other materials, at this temperature will precipitate carbide, resulting in secondary hardening, but also lead to increased brittleness.
